Kindred was born of a love of wine and a great friendship of over 15 years. In 2004, Kevin Jones met Mike and Leah Smith at a summer party. They happened to have brought barrel samples of their new project called Myriad.
Later that year, they met again and shared a 1964 Borgogno Riserva in their back yard. Coincidentally, Kevin had previously enjoyed the same wine on his birthday a few months earlier. This moment was the beginning of a friendship that has spanned over 15 years. We are thankful for that one fall evening and the memories that have been shared since.

The 2018 Kindred Rose is 100% Pinot Noir first press wine from a single vineyard in the Sonoma Coast Appellation, with a very limited production.

Kevin Jones is wine lover, foodie, former builder, and founder of Liquid Assets Cellars, Epicurus Gourmet and a serial entrepreneur. Kevin set out to create a premium wine that would exemplify quality. Something to celebrate the importance of family friendships and strong life bonds.
Our winemaker…
Mike Smith is a Rock Star winemaker in Napa Valley who goes his own way, doesn’t follow trends and believes in what he does. This is evident by the critical acclaim he regularly receives from the likes of Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Spectator and Robert Parker to name a few. In addition the list of clients that allow him to craft their precious juice is a who’s who of some of the best wineries in CA. Beyond winemaking, Mike is a fabulous father, husband and an old soul that I am proud to call a friend. A definite Kindred Spirit.
Some of Mikes other projects include Myriad, Quivet, Ancillary, Carter, Patine, Becklyn, Scarlett. Also, He has garnered huge scores working with great vineyards the likes of Beckstoffer’s Tokalon, George III and Dr. Crane vineyards, Las Madres, Sangiacomo and Steltzner.
